VNL’s WorldGSM is a zero-opex solar-powered GSM system specifically designed to enable operators to build commercial networks in remote rural areas where ARPUs are < $2 a month.
For years operators have struggled with the same problem: Traditional GSM equipment was not designed for emerging markets. It costs too much to buy and maintain, uses too much power and is difficult to deploy (especially in areas with no electricity, poor roads and no engineers).
VNL has re-engineered GSM to overcome these challenges. Finally operators have a way to provide services for the three billion people who are not covered by a mobile network.
