Sony Ericsson has launched two new web-friendly HSDPA enabled handsets: the Z780 flip phone and the G502 candy bar. SE is clearly tapping into a growing segment of the population that surfs the net with their handsets quite frequently.
"These two phones are quite distinct, yet both have the potential to introduce more users to the world of the web on your mobile," said Martin Winkler, director of global marketing and head of multimedia web at Sony Ericsson. "Being able to check your email whenever you like, or surf the web when on the move, should not just be the preserve of professionals.”
The Z780, similar to the earlier Z770, is a triband 3G and HSDPA-enabled handset that has a clamshell design and is loaded for web usage. It’s designed to allow users to conveniently receive email or browse the web at high speeds in countries across the world. It comes preloaded with A-GPS and Google Maps.
Other features include a 3 megapixel camera with an FM radio and a media player. The Z780 supports Bluetooth with an A2DP profile and M2 cards for external memory. It has a 2.2 inch display with a 240 x 320 pixel resolution and a small external monochrome display as well.
